Screaming Birds

They're back..
Those screeching Corella's flying in, in the hundreds.
My granddaughter Shiarny went wild shooing them out of our trees.
Our two little dogs ran after her barking.

The birds didn't go far,  just onto the neighbours roof.
Watching and waiting for a chance to return.

I love to see them free.
Yet  many are caged.
This one  loves the Christmas Bush flowering tree.
(who is watching who?)

A beautiful bird, and a beautiful Bible verse.

Psalm 62:8

                                                      "Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;                                                                                                                     God is a refuge for us."

Scarecrow Festival Day Out

Ray went off to golf and my granddaughter Shiarn and I drove out to the Mary Valley.
How I love the Mary Valley.
I don't know why its called that as there are many hills, and valley's.
Serenity is plentiful, wildlife wanders the roads, and for this month, they feature a Scarecrow Festival.

Our first stop was Amamoor.

Not every farm displayed a scarecrow.
We didn't find them all, but these are the ones we did.

We stopped at a local school hoping they had one...
Nothing was there accept for galahs feeding off the lawn.

Our last stop was at Brooloo.
As a little girl I grew up in a small country community.
This hall brought back the memories of a Saturday night dance.
Everyone went, even the children.
Cakes, sandwiches and drinks were taken by all for supper.
The men went outside and around the back away from the women and children if they wanted to drink alcohol or smoke. Not many did.
Later we all walked the few miles home.
I remember holding onto my sister on one side of me and my mother on the other.
They supported me as I walked with eyes closed and legs moving.

I suppose because I grew up in the country with the outdoor living, I think its the best.

Help for Peter

This is Peter a young Cambodian boy in desperate need of surgery.

How good it is to have children without problems such as this.
How terrible it must be, to look at your child, and not have the money to help.

I received this information from Deborah Jewel King, a lady who helps out,
What About Cambodia.
This is what she wrote:
"He was supposed to receive surgery last week but as it is so complex the
surgeons felt they could not perform it at CSC.org which provides free
assistance.  We now have a Russian surgeon who is going to perform the
Surgery this Monday and it will change this boys life forever, however the costs are $2000USD.  I have been working on this since July and we have come across many obstacles but am nearly at his finishing post.
We still need to raise an additional $650.00 USD to ensure he gets his smile back and have exhausted many avenues trying."

I know many of you reading this will say, I'd like to help, but, am unable.

Every cent counts.
Search your heart.
Look at Peter's face, and pray about it.
I am a pensioner myself now, but I have helped.

"Give, and it will be given (back) to you.
A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:48

My mother taught me the above principle.
As a woman raising five children alone, she gave to everyone who asked.
And...God Blessed Her.

News update: The fourth lot of floods for this year is expected!
Please add your prayer to mine for
Protection,

Peace,
Health,

Gods Blessings to you.

In Times of Trouble

                            Fear,  Anxiety,  Worry

There is always something that can cause worry and take our eyes off our faith and trust in God. Yesterday in church our Pastor spoke on the parable of the sower

Then He (Jesus)spoke many things to them in parables, saying:

“Behold, a sower went out to sow.

And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside;

and the birds came and devoured them."

Matthew 13:3-4

Our Pastor said something I had never thought of before. He called the birds, satan. He told us that satan comes along in different ways, and takes away the good God gives us. The wayside Gods seeds fall on, is the hardness of our hearts.

Do we put other things, work, sport, entertainment before God?

I don't want to be one of those people!

I want to have God seed planted deeply within my heart.

I want it to grow and thrive so that I can give out to others.

"My love is for God, who knows me

and hears my voice when I cry out.

When the grip of fears and anxieties

take hold of me, when I come to grief and sorrow

I call on God and find relief." Psalms 116

I don't want to allow satan to gain control.

I want to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus, the lover of my soul.

From the small to the large, God loves us.
Green tree frog Robert da Bruce with my daughters dog Samson.

So... smile, safe in the knowledge of where you belong...and let God's seed grow.

Our Monty smiling.

I am so please to tell you, it has been five days since I have had to take pain relief.                                                         Many have prayed for me and I have also prayed, God Is Good!!

From Buddha to Christ

David Yonggi Cho (Once Paul Yonggi Cho)
Peter Allen
David (previously called Paul) Yonggi Cho is Senior Pastor of the world's largest
church in Seoul Korea. He was born in 1936 and was raised as a Buddhist.
His early life was a struggle, firstly he lived through the Japanese invasion of Korea
and then the Korean war. He grew up with a tremendous ambition to be famous
and successful because of his povertystricken childhood.
At the age of 19 he was holding down several jobs and was struggling just to
exist.
One afternoon he started vomiting blood. He was diagnosed as having
incurable tuberculosis and was told that his life expectancy was a maximum of
4 months.
Conversion
He went home and cried out to his god Buddha for healing, when this didn't eventuate he denounced his Buddhist faith. He then cried out to the unknown
God. Cho recounts what happened next in his book The Fourth Dimension:
A few days later a high school girl visited me, and began to talk about
Jesus Christ. She told me about Christ's virgin birth, His death on a cross,
His resurrection, and salvation through grace. These stories seemed
nonsense to me. I neither accepted her stories, nor paid much attention to
this ignorant young female. Her departure left me with one emotion: relief.
But the next day she returned. She came again and again, every time
troubling me with stories about the Godman, Jesus. After more than a
week of these visits, I became greatly agitated, and roughly rebuked her.
She did not run away in shame, nor retaliate in anger. She simply knelt
down, and began to pray for me. Large tears rolled down her cheeks,
reflecting a compassion foreign to my well organised and sterile Buddhist
philosophies and rituals.
When I saw her tears, my heart was deeply touched. There was something
different in this young girl. She was not reciting religious stories to me;
she was living what she believed. Through her love and tears I could feel
the presence of God.
'Young lady,' I entreated, 'please don't cry. I am sorry. I know about your
Christian love. Since I am dying I will become a Christian for you.'
Her response was immediate. Her face brightened into a glow, and she
praised God. Shaking hands with me, she gave me her Bible.
'Search the Bible,' she instructed. 'If you read it faithfully you will find the
words of life'

What a marvellous witness this young girl was! Cho never even learned her
name, but through her Cho was saved. Cho read the Bible with a new found zeal
and he came to know Jesus as his own personal Saviour and friend.
Instead of dying within three months, he was out of his deathbed within six months.
After graduating from an Assemblies of God Bible school in 1958 he started his
first church in an old American service tent next to a dump.
He had a burning desire to build the largest church in Korea. Not only did he
achieve this goal, but within 20 years he had built the largest church in the world.
