WAIT !

Who wants to wait for something?
I don't like to WAIT..do you?

When Ray asks me to do something, he wants it now.
Yet when I ask him, to do something for me, or come and eat, its Wait!
Sometimes I have to wait a few minutes, for him to come to the table.
Or, wait days weeks and even months, when I want something done.

Today is a now world.
When you pray, you want your answer now.
Then you pray for patience, again.....You want it Now! LOL

If God doesn't answer straight away, you think he has forgotten.
If it takes a long time for the answer to come, you feel abandoned.

The other day a man and his wife said they have been praying for a certain person for twenty years. Now thats a long time.

Yet God tells us about Waiting.

Psalm 27:14
"Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD."

Psalm 40:1
"I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry."

Hebrews 6:15
"And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised."

Wait patiently, when it comes you will realise the value of waiting.

Hungry Children

One thing which haunts me more then hungry animals, is hungry children.
I knew what it was like to be hungry as a child.
Don't get me wrong, my mother worked hard to feed and cloth us.
Yet she wasn't always there to cook healthy meals.
Going to a two teacher country school, there was no shop close by, in my first few years to buy lunches.
There was no money either, to do so. We took sandwiches from home. These were made from the previous days, bread. It was kept in a bread safe, not the fridge or freezer. We mostly had home made butter and some kind of spread. The sandwich was wrapped in greaseproof paper. This kept it clean, but the outside of the bread hardened as it dried out and wasn't the most palpable to eat. Our drink was water from the outside school taps, cold in winter and warm in summer. We children ate and drank what we had with no complaint, we all, in those days, just accepted that this was the way life was. Very few children who attended our school had it much better.

How different it was for my children, and now my grandchild, and yet sometimes they throw their lunches away. Good healthy food, thrown into the dustbin with no appreciation.
Not all children have it so good. There are many today who's parents spend the household money unwisely leaving the children to suffer hunger. Some Australian children are sent to school without a breakfast and often no lunch. In my opinion, this is evil, and yet, these parents spend on drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and gambling. In other words, on their own pleasures and pursuits, instead of on nourishing food for their offspring.

Whenever I am anywhere, be it MacDonald's or the supermarket, if I see a child or an adult, who looks hungry or poor, I buy them food.  How amazed they always are. High school kids flock into MacDonalds to buy themselves something after school. Often one child will hang back as they don't have the money, these are the ones I approach and say. You look just like my grandson, or granddaughter. Here take this money and buy yourself something.
One child of a family of three children that I treated to chips and chocolate in a supermarket one day looked at me in adoration. "You must be a very kind lady," she said.
I was so taken aback that I failed to tell her, that Jesus loved her. I couldn't speak for the lump in my throat.
But then perhaps I wasn't meant to say a thing?  God works in mysterious ways.
I am not writing this to build myself up, but to demonstrate how aware we need to be, of the less fortunate.
We can't take anything with us when we depart this world. Sharing is the best policy.

"For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me,
I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.
They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ Matthew 25:42-45

ANZAC - DAY - Rememberance

On the 25th April we in Australia commemorate ANZAC Day.
The whole nation stands still, in remembrance.
This is a somber day and begins with a dawn service.

All the return soldiers and their wives, then go to a free breakfast supplied by the Return Soldiers League.
Following this is a parade through the town streets, and a wreath laying ceremony, and a service.
At lunch time another huge free meal is provided, with many old returned service men and women reunited.
Ray with the floral tributes. On either side of the gates are the names of the fallen from our town.

The Enemy

"The thief (Enemy) comes not, but to Steal (your peace), and to Kill (your happiness), and to Destroy (your faith) but I (Jesus) am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
John 10:10

I am sure you all know how it is to have people against you.

In this world, the Bible tells us, that satan roams like a roaring lion, waiting to devour.

There is a particular person who reads my Blog simply to tear it to pieces..

Today a friend reminded me of the Bible story of Joseph.
Joseph's father, Jacob, loved him more than all of his other children?
To show his love, Jacob made his son a beautiful coat of many colours.
This stirred jealous hatred in the heart's of Josephs brothers. So they set out to do him harm.

Note I placed a question mark after the fact that Jacob loved Joseph more than the others.
Why would this be?
There had to be a reason?
Was it because Jacob loved Josephs mother more, than his other son's mother?
Or was it because Joseph was always a person who also cared greatly for his father?
We may never know.
However, we do know, that Joseph's heart was right with God.
And, God continued to bless Joseph, on and on.

I believe the lesson here is:
"What shall we then say to these things?
If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Romans 8:31

So,it is always best to leave treacherous people, to God.

A Best Friend

We have three little dogs and they all vi for our affection.
When it comes to loving you, who can compare.
Have you heard the story of Reggie?
This is Reggie, or as his new owner discovered....his real name was Tank.

He belonged to a soldier who could no longer keep him.
Put into an animal refuge, Reggie waited for a family to adopt him.
However, he couldn't get on with anyone.
Until...one lady tried and tried with him.
Finally she read a letter given to her with the dog,  from the previous owner.
This was from a soldier and explained why he wasn't able to keep Reggie, who's real name was Tank.
As soon as the new owner named him Tank, the dog began to respond.
And the soldier who couldn't keep him?
Well, the new owner remembered his name.
She had seen it in the paper, he was killed in action.

Man's best friend, is also a soldiers best friend.

"Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."
(Job 12:7-10)

NO REGRETS ? ? Yes

How can any of us have no regrets?
I have plenty. But as Edith singings here, they are all gone, because life has started all over again in.........who? only Christ Jesus..

My biggest regret is not being in only one marriage. At least my children have only the one father. They are all true siblings. My first marriage lasted for almost thirty years. My marriage to Ray will be until the end of my life.  With my children I have no regrets. I love the four of them.

Do you ever look back over your life with regret?
I am sure as your read these words you will remember something you regret.
Thats life isn't it! A schoolroom of lessons, learning and mistakes.
Yet in the end....as the singer sings in her haunting rendition....
They are gone...past...best forgotten, because, we get a new start with Jesus.

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
Isaiah53:5

Thank You Jesus, for all you have done, and given to me.
None other have done this, only you!

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose"
Romans 8:28

JUST Jesus - Carries Our Load

Isn't this picture wonderful? It really got me thinking!

At first the following scripture came to mind.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

Note:
He is only carrying the woman's burdens/bags?
Why was that?
Did she hand them over more willingly/they were too heavy?
OR...was her faith in Him stronger?

Did the man perhaps consider, he was capable of carrying his own load.
Do you think perhaps as a man, be felt responsible for himself.

Tell me your thoughts as you look at this picture.
Does it give you courage to continue on?
Does it help you to know we can hand our burdens over to Jesus?
To me, this illustration depicts peace and security in a risen Saviour....

Salvation has nothing to do with a Denomination/Religion. ..

But it does have to do with Jesus Christ....
The only one, who defeated death, to give those who believe, Eternal Life.

What a Sacrifice of Love.

"Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes,  we are healed."
Isaiah 53: 4-5

** What interesting replies...Thank you...Body Of Christ.
When I looked and looked again at this picture I can see the woman is actually holding what looks like a brief case under her arm?
So she didn't give up all.

Yes, Jesus teaches us to be a servant!  Yet a servant usually walks behind.
Jesus is a servant and as such carries the load.
However, He is striding ahead, showing the way...
There is another lesson here.
Will we allow Him to lead?
Or....will we be lazy like sheep and follow just for the sake of it?
Or....will we gladly  and enthusiastically follow with a thankful heart.
There is much to contemplate on!!

Jesus Gave His Life For Me and You.

There is a green hill far away
Without a city wall,
Where the dear Lord was crucified,
Who died to save us all.

He did what he came to earth to do.
He did what no other has ever done.
He shed His Blood, so we may be SAVED.

Facebook Competiion

It won't be long before I write Ray a message on Facebook to the effect of..
"Good Morning Ray, This is your wife, typing. I tried calling you to breakfast, but your eyes are glued to the screen and your ears are blocked."
LOL

Or how about.
"HELP,  Wanted two strong men, to disengage my husband from the computer.

Does this sound like your house....??

I have decided there is a barrier in my life and its called FACEBOOK!.
The devil is on the loose, using what looks like a harmless social connection to prevent every day family communication.

Ray finally came to breakfast, after I had done everything to get him there.
In the end I said my Grace and began to eat, alone, as I often do now.

So for dinner tonight.......
I have made a weapon of mass destruction!!!!
And,  it will be directed straight at Ray's stomach.

Ah Ha!! you might well say, whats she up to now..
Well, an American from Tennessee, living in tropical Queensland, occasionally has a hankering for good old fashioned southern food...or tucker, as we say here.

I made him Chilli and Cornbread, ....the fragrance of the south.

His seat is empty, I won this round so.....La La to Facebook!
What is this site doing to person to person communication and relationships?
Nothing replaces the personal, live, human contact.

There are pro's and con's about everything.
With restricted use, it can help people to keep in touch with those friends and family far away.

As with any addiction, it needs to be controlled.
Otherwise, it will control the user.
Will we soon see Face-book Detox Centres?
For some, it may come to that.

What of the future??
I pray that church congregations don't begin to form groups on Facebook.
Otherwise, we will end up with empty places of worship.
What would Jesus say about this?

"Do not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
Hebrews 10:25
