For it is does indeed contain the sum-total of His Holy Scriptures. His very own words. However, we do not need it. We need Him, and He provided His words in written form to help us. Nonetheless, someone can know and understand everything He wants them to without ever seeing a Bible--let alone spend their entire lives in study of it.

What you are saying is very understandable. For I was taught the same things. I even pastored a small church for two years and preached such. I had no idea just who our Heavenly Father truly is then, nor did I know what He wants to accomplish in and through us. I now understand that He has been actually talking to each and every one of us since the womb, and when one truly become born-again, they become more and more acutely aware of such, with it all depending upon what He wants to accomplish in and through them as an individual. He is there for us first, and His Holy Scriptures are provided to help us understand. What I was taught was putting the cart before the horse, so to speak. It was placing everything upon the Bible to find Him, which is backwards.

Be assured that I am not trying to talk anyone out of studying Scripture. I am called to help as many as will to understand what is really going on. All I am doing is repeating and reinforcing (as being a further witness to) what our Heavenly Father has been already personally revealing unto someone. What I have been given to say is nonsense without Him being there first. Everything in the Bible is nonsense without Him being there first.

The vast majority of the Christian community has been conditioned to believe that our Heavenly Father (in any form) is not active in this world today. Hence, the critical importance for Christian preachers, teachers, missionaries and especially the Bible.

Sounds rather self-serving--does it not? For it is one thing for our Heavenly Father to want us to help, but it raises us unto an entirely different (much, much higher) level when He NEEDS us to. It is the same for the Bible.

I never thought in such a way before He started making Himself real unto me in 1993. this was 29 years after I had been "saved and baptized" as a Southern Baptist. I was just doing what I could to glory Him. I was wrong. I had been woefully deceived.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16349087080262856079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3179345863797404094.post-87915642267004515042018-01-18T17:04:20.746+10:002018-01-18T17:04:20.746+10:00Yes I understand. As such, we read the word to fill ourselves with the word.... Jesus himself quoted the word to satan while in the wilderness for 40 days and night. So, Gods word is important. The holy spirit was my main teacher when I was in a hard marriage for 30yrs. Jesus came to me when I was ill at age 34. My faith in the Lord does not waver. So, one of us has been woefully deceived.

What I have been taught is that none of the versions we have available to us are exactly accurate. For they were compiled from the copies of the copies of the copies of the original manuscripts, but except for those purposely rewritten by certain groups to promote their agendas, it does not matter. For our Heavenly Father gave His Holy Scriptures to serve as written confirmation of what He Himself personally reveals unto each and every one of us--not take His place.

Since His thoughts are so much higher than our own, His Holy Bible is just another ancient book without Him explaining what He means by this or that. Take the general understanding of the Word of God for example. Is it not true that your reference has Scripture in mind? The true Word of God is Christ Jesus Himself--not the book He Authored about Himself and His most awesome ways. Every Biblical reference to the Word is a reference to Him--not Scripture.

Alas, the reformation only really succeeded in replacing one idol (the church) with another (the Bible). It was an important step in the right direction, but it fell woefully short. Thankfully, our Heavenly Father is well able to overcome any obstacle. If He could change my mind about so many things--who can He not? Ah, but He will not force Himself upon those unwilling to humbly accept what He actually says is absolutely true.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16349087080262856079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3179345863797404094.post-13608815028330390262018-01-18T00:42:58.806+10:002018-01-18T00:42:58.806+10:00LOL... Its not that the modern version was wrong, ...LOL... Its not that the modern version was wrong, but the wording wasn't exactly how I was given it in the spirit.
At that time I didn't know the verse at all - now I do and it means much to me.
Men are more logical, women are more emotional.
To you (a man) the wording may be the same, but to me (a woman), I was given exactly as versed in the KJ version, so this proves to me - the authenticity.
Check out your NIV Luke 9:56 and see if Jesus words are left out.
As explained above... God says at the beginning, middle and end of the Bible that we are not to add to, or take away from his word!!!! ..... OR there will be punishment.
So... the person who translates and leaves out what is meant to be said, is sinning!!
Should this mean nothing to you, then you do not have a full belief of Gods Word.

Sr Crystal Mary Lindseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03509227559164880311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3179345863797404094.post-34566363859489788712018-01-17T21:35:15.220+10:002018-01-17T21:35:15.220+10:00Do you remember how that modern version differed? ...Do you remember how that modern version differed? The NIV version of it is: Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding. The KJV has: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. I do not see a discernible difference. It is a verse we all should take to heart, by the way.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16349087080262856079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3179345863797404094.post-49572158428493012652018-01-17T20:15:34.784+10:002018-01-17T20:15:34.784+10:00How can you be sure it doesn't??? It is the ol...How can you be sure it doesn't??? It is the oldest so when you read many of the translations and see the errors its astounding. Jerry did you actually look at SOME of the errors???? AND, there are many more than I put here.
I am a very spiritual Christian. I have been shown and told MUCH, that I could not possibly know on my own.
When my youngest daughter was 17yrs she left home. One day I received a word from God and quickly wrote it down so as not to forget. Getting the concordance out and looking for what I desired to find, it was in Proverbs3:5. At first I picked up my modern Bible, but the words were not as I was given. I then opened the KJ Version and the wording was exactly as given. So from that, I believe it is as authentic as possible.
