My Oz - Australia

Do you ever have times when you can't seem to get your head around every day things?
Well I have been there for a few weeks...its called stress.
So I probably haven't visited as much as I should have and I certainly haven't written as much.
Everything seems just too difficult.

Susie, another Blogger is having a Post Card Party.
That sounds easy I thought, I can do that.
But I have already given up and decided to just post some Ozzie pictures instead.
We Australians call ourselves Ozzies... and our country is Oz..

We are laid back creatures and take life as it comes..
A bit like our koala.

Most of us have a mad sense of humour and laugh at almost everything, even ourselves.
I suppose thats why we got landed with this laughing bird, the kookaburra.  Who likes to drive us crazy.

These are our Diggers (soldiers), and we treat them with respect and dignity.

The ocean is a large part of Ozzie life and we have thousands of miles of untamed beaches.
No News report is finished before surfing and ocean conditions are completed.

There may be some unwanted visitors to keep an eye out..
I found an unwarranted trust in them because they look so harmless.
I'm sure thats why people get taken, they don't believe they will be.

Out in the wild, these 'Roo's can be dangerous also.           Don't be fooled.

I love the pelicans. They are majestic and proud, yet always expect the fishermen to feed them.

Come and visit Australia.

  6. Hi There, I enjoyed seeing photos from Ozzie-Land. Thanks for sharing. It's always nice to learn more about others' country.

I loved seeing the Kookaburras. I knew a little song as a child about a Kookaburra... Don't think I've ever seen them before though.

Why do they call the soldiers, Diggers?

    Hugs,
    Betsy

    1. Hello Betsy, i love the Kookaburra's and they tell us much about our day. They are called the bush clock and will awaken you at the same time every day. Here in summer and spring its around 5am.If they laugh at 12noon, it means a change in the weather the next day.
The song is "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, merry merry king of the bush is he...."

    2. Oh I forgot, The name Diggers come from the First W.W. when the Ozzie's and Kiwi's (New Zealand) soldier's dug the trenches in Gallipoli Eastern Turkey. Men call each other Digger..the same as Mate over here.

    1. Yes the koala is becoming extinct in many places, they get run over on the roads, and shot at by stupid people. They are so harmless.

  8. Crystal, I go through that too. But, I found that if God wants me to do something, He will make it happen. Don't stress! Those pictures of your country are beautiful. They give us an adventure and know that whatever is happening in our lives, God still is full of mysteries and surprises. Like why are those little birds only down there?? God be with you.

    1. You are so right and I know that too. I feel as I age I seem to contain more and feel it harder? I am studying Elijah and realise that when you are close to the Lord, there will be spiritual lows.
The kookaburra is about the size of a medium chicken.. so a good size.

  9. What is God's creation beautiful. All these different kinds of animals. A small part of my family lives in Australia. Aunt and uncle and cousins. But I do not really know your country.

To Australia means sometimes long, long hours flying.

    1. It is a long flight. All in all to the east coast of the United States it takes us between 26-32 hours all told. Very tiring.

  10. Dear Crystal, I'd love to visit Australia but I'm not longer able to fly because of Meniere's Disease. So your wonderful photographs and text are going to have to satisfy my desire to know more about your country. I so remember singing the song--many years ago--about the kookaburra and the old gum tree. But this is the first time I ever realized that the kookaburra was a bird! Thanks for educating me. Peace.

    1. That is sad you have meniere's disease. Flying and the altitude is not for you. My daughter has a family of Kookaburra's living in a tree near her home. One starts to laugh and then they all take off in unison. They are about the size of a medium chicken and can pick on smaller birds. But I love having them around because they kill and eat the snakes.

My inlaws traveled to Australia when they were living, and loved it. Another relative has also been there. I know I would love it, too.

The kookaburras are the most fascinating to me. Sooo cute!

Best wishes in getting rid of that unnecessary stress.

    1. I think our easy going attitude is what people like plus there is so many beaches without high rises.. just secluded. I missed the laugh of the kookaburra when I lived away. The birds are a large part of our life...

  15. What a beautiful home, baby!
I find it very similar to Brazil ...
God made everything perfect so we could enjoy it all, God is good!
In God you can do as the Koala, then just rest it and relaxed, believing that he takes care of everything for us.
    Oh!
    Grace and peace of Christ!

  16. Hi precious lady, Crystal Mary,
Oh!! I just love to see your wonderful country with Paul one day...
You know, I used to watch Steve Irwin's films in Australia and other places worldwide, and I learned so much about Australia just by watching Steve Irwin's films.
He married Terry, an American lady from Portland, Oregon.
They had 2 gorgeous kids, Bindy Sue and little Robert. It is so sad to have lost the best Wildlife Warrior Worldwide that I have ever known.
Steve Irwin made Australia well known worldwide, and he was so proud to be an Australian. He filmed so many scenes in Australia, and I fall in love with it. So, I pray to the Lord that He may grant me the blessing to see your beautiful country with Doctor Paul one day before I die...
I am an animal lover and advocate, so I adore the Australian animals.
The Koala is one of my favourites. I am praying that you get well soon after your stress issues, Crystal darling. Thank you for talking to me!!
I am glad that your husband, Ray is exploring the wondrous wonders of Australia, its majestic sea with outstanding coral reefs and whales dwellings. God keeps blessing you, and those you love!!
    Warm Hugs and Blessings,
    Starry.

  18. Hi again, Crystal,
I have something else to ask you about your beautiful country.
I have been interested in learning more about your country since Steve Irwin's films, who made Australia well-known worldwide.
I fell in love with dingoes in Frasier Island. I love dingoes and New Guinea Singing Dogs or Singers. Have ever been to Frasier Island?? It is a small island closed to the Australian shore line. Dingoes used to roam freely at the beach, at least, at the time Steve Irwin filmed them with his camcorder. I saw many dingoes at Frasier Island with Steve and Terry.
I would love to have a dingo or a singer as a pet at home one day in the future...I still hold many dreams in my heart. God bless you, Crystal, and those you love. Warm Regards from Starry.

    2. Hello Starry, I live about 90klm (about 50miles) from Frazer Island, and yes I have been there.. It is a wonderful place with miles of beach that you drive along. Sightseeing planes land on the beach also so you need to watch out for them. I have shown photos of it in a Blog ages ago on here... If I can find it, I will re-post. xxxxx
