The ROCK - Uluru....Into the Presence of God.

In the Middle of Australia lies a natural wonder of the World.

A couple of years ago we traveled extensively around Oz.
Ending up in central Australia, Ray was keen to see the most famous ROCK in the world, Uluru.
Now what is it about that place that everyone flocks there to see?
It was beyond me.
We camped our caravan the night before and Ray was up early next morning with his camera to begin photographing.
Am I daft??  I couldn't understand how anyone could take lots of photos, of a silly rock?
VERY INTERESTING INFORMATION:

The Size of This Rock: The sandstone formation stands 348 m (1,142 ft) high (rising 863 m/2,831 ft above sea level), with most of its bulk lying underground, and has a total circumference of 9.4 km (5.8 mi).

Once I got to see this amazing natural landmark, I understood the spiritual meaning it holds to our Aboriginals.    I felt like I was in the presence of a very powerful spiritual force. I am still dumbstruck when I think about it.  I believe that is how I will feel when I finally meet my creator face to face. The Rock, or Uluru as it is called by our indigenous people, changes colours, through out the day.

Ray climber all over it, taking about two hours.
I sat on a seat and looked and looked at it enthralled.
In the evening, as the sun goes down, it becomes magical.
All I can say about it now is: It draws you back into its majestic presence, where you feel at one with the creator.

    1. Thank you Dee. I am a spiritual person. I can just know things?? Sometimes I am told (mind) about a person I may just meet and it rocks me. I usually pray about it instead of telling them.

  11. Hi, I am able to read your page...:) The rock is interesting that it changes color and the night time photo is absolutely beautiful. Do the little children play with the lizards as pets? I enjoyed this post very much.

  12. During a prayer gathering for revival, I was given a picture [vision] of Uluru with an aboriginal sitting on it playing the didgeredoo and streams of water started to flow in the desert. It remimded me of the Jewish priest sounding the shophar to invoke the Presence of God. I believe that our indigenous people will play a big part in the coming revival in Australia. Val

  14. Lovely pictures. Even though I live in Australia I'm probably not going to ever see Uluru live, as we rarely if ever go on holidays, so appreciate your pics.

  16. One of the great things about blogging is "seeing" and hearing of places that may not have been introduced to me otherwise. What a beautiful sight! I can imagine all the feelings you described.

I enjoyed seeing the picture of the crafts and the children, too. There's something very universal about children. :) Even with lizards wrapped around their necks!

I'm glad you had a wonderful time!
