I have never had much to do with Valentine's Day.
In fact I think we have far too many celebration days.
For me they are basically a date when we look to having something more we don't really need.
But this time Ray and I decided to go out for breakfast, we don't do that very often.
So its a treat.
I had helped out with a church wedding a couple of weeks ago.
As a thank you, the other ladies and I were given a voucher, for The Brown Jug.
So I thought it was a nice day to use it.
The atmosphere was lovely with old fashioned wallpaper depicting yesteryear scenes.
Ray trimmed his beard short and I have had my hair colored....
We both felt fresh and new.
We did nothing extravagant or lavish, but it was nice.

Valentines Day

Valentine's Day.

Late in 2008 I began to explore and enjoy the realm of creative writing. This is something which has always been an interest yet until now,I haven't found time to indulge.
God is the cornerstone of my home and heart. He is my life and my breath, for without Him I am nothing. My desire is to edify His existence in my daily walk through life. To inspire and encourage the broken hearted. And to assist in the knowledge that EVERYTHING has a reason and a purpose under the Heavens.
We are reminded through our faith in Jesus that He will, "Turn our Mourning into Dancing and our Sorrow into Joy." Psalms 30:11. Having personally experienced tough times I know, there is truly no gain without pain.

It sounds like a perfect way to use your coupon. The restaurant looks nice and comfortable. Your top photo reminds me so much of my first time to Australia and how much I enjoyed the difference in the street life. Happy Valentine's Day. xx
ReplyDeleteWell if you come back, come and visit us. xx
DeleteNow that sounds like a truly lovely day, spent with each other. Love your hair- what an attractive couple you two are!

It was nice Shelley. We went window shopping afterwards, just looking, I won't buy unless its necessary.
DeleteWe are aging. My hair is completely white and has been left like that for a couple of years. I felt like a change.
I was so happy to get Ray to trim his beard also.
I'm glad you two had an enjoyable day!
ReplyDeleteI pray yours was inter-mate and pleasurable also.
DeleteGoing to breakfast is one of my very favorite things to do--because I don't get to do it very often and because I love breakfast foods which I seldom take the time to make for myself!
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting that it's summer for you. Seems so strange to see people in shorts and sleeveless blouses when I'm wearing slacks, turtlenecked blouse and a sweatshirt! You look lovely!
A lot of people wear shorts all year round here.. We are in the tropics. I feel the cold, but Ray rarely does.
DeletePleased you had a nice day. I think the hype etc is way over the top and too much money is spent, that people can ill afford. Also it probably makes some people feel very marginalised.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless - Nita
Hello Nita, Yes, if you can't afford it, then don't do it. We all need to think more before we spend. When you don't
Deleteeat out often, then you really appreciate it when you do.
Being together is what is important . It looks like you had a lovely day together. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was quiet peaceful and nice. Hope all is well with you Dee. xxxx
DeleteHAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSame to you dear Sandie. xxxx
DeleteLovely pic. Its so great to be together!
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day is way over-rated. You had an enjoyable day and that's more than what most people could ask for. Glad you had a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteAww, lovely to hear of your Valentine's day. I personally love the reminder to be a bit extra romantic that day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Mrs. A.
This is so nice...Yall having a simple outing together
ReplyDeleteDear Crystal, it seems to me that sharing a meal and being with a good friend--and Ray is that I'm sure as well as being your husband--is good most any time! Peace.
