So Huge, Majestic, Regal, and Spiritual.....
Its the place to see, and the place to be...
Yes, Ray had to show Gus, the Rock!
The colours are amazing... Ethereal !
This time I decided to photograph it differently.
Not from a distance which makes it look remote and cold, but up close and personal.
Ray and Gus decided to climb, then Gus discovered he became too breathless.
So Ray continued on by himself.
I was terrified as I watched him let go of the guide chain, and walk alone.
There is a long way to fall, so I couldn't watch him go all the way. I sneaked a photo when I dared to look.
As I sat and waited.
Almost at the top. And the Rock changes colour.
Its quiet and its lonely, and the wait seems endless.
The sky darkened...and night began to fall. Still Ray remained on the Rock. Where on earth was he?
I began to get worried. The darker it got the more concerned we became. Gus was now with me and we were joined by a lawyer from Sydney named Robert.
I called, tooted the car horn and turned the flashing lights of the car on. Still no Raymond.
Then the Ranger arrived to close up. There was no visibility by now apart from vehicle lights.
Finally, Ray answered my call. The Ranger climbed a short distance to meet him, and shine the way of the last few meters down to level ground.
Pictured here with the Ranger.
We had a 100klm drive back to the Homestead Station and our accommodation.
If I hadn't prepared for us to eat hot dogs that night, there would have been nothing for dinner.
Gus and Ray, outside our bush quarters.
More to come.......... ~ ~ Next Post.
PSALM91:1-2
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
my God, in whom I trust.”
When we are afraid, we can pray and trust God.
He takes care of what is out of our control.
