* * SOME SNAKE * *

Driving home from church in the dark my headlights hit on a large long thick object crossing the road. Slowing my speed I sat in horror watching the humungas python slither the last few metres to escape into bushland. Wow! that was some snake... I shook my head in disbelief. It was the biggest I'd ever set eyes on! And to top it off I'd noticed the bulge emphasising some poor unsuspecting animal had become its meal. Owning a little dog myself I felt sick wondering who would be missing their pet come morning.

One disgruntled sheep farmer installed an electric fence to stop his sheep going missing.
These photos show a surprise at what he caught.

The Culprit

The Diamond Head Snake can give a nasty bite, even leaving teeth behind in the victim
However, they are non venomous, killing their prey by strangulation.
They are noctural staying under houses, in roofs or up trees during the day.
Their length measures from 2-4 metres or 6 1/2 to over 13 feet long.....
Some people keep them as pets. My advice is, stay safe and don't trust!

Below is my grandson Luke with two of his special treasures.....
Unusual pets....but not harmful...

* Thou wilt keep in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee.
   Isaiah 26:3

  1. Jeepers what a snake. A lot of good it did him to eat someone's pet. Didn't get away with it. Glad you were in a vehicle. Getting ready for a storm in Ky. and Thunder Over Louisville tomorrow. Gearing up for the Ky. Derby. That is a lot of medical folks in the family.

  5. Holy cow, what a snake! We don't get those here unless someone keeps it as a pet -- the biggest snake I've ever gotten up close and personal with was a bull snake a girlfriend kept as a pet in high school -- it was nothing like this one!

  6. Hello Christine H, I don't think the farmer considered what he would catch. Bless you for visiting. hugs

Hiya Bill, I couldn't believe the size of the one I almost ran over. We have been taught a snake can wrap itself around a car wheel and fling up into the engine then enter the car...so, we try not to run over them. I'd hate one inside with me. Bless you.

  7. I think I'd take your advise. The last thing I'd want was one of those for a pet.

I'm not sure my little dog would appreciate it either.

  13. Hiya Bernie dear, Yes you can understand why God depicted Satan as a snake. They are lowly creatures. Bless you.

  14. That is a huge snake. Looks a lot like the African rock python, except for the teeth. African rock pythons get very big and are ambush hunters, they like to submerge themselves in water holes, with just their nostrils showing, and grab antelope and other animals when they come to drink.
