The mind is a powerful tool.
We can concentrate on the good around us and keep our mind positive!
Or, we can dwell on the negative and let the Devil feed us nasty thoughts, that poisons our souls. 'Stinkin Thinkin.'
If we allow STRONG HOLDS from the enemy to take over our mind, they begin to poison every word we are given.
For example: A young man angrily told me the other day, that every woman he meets takes advantage of him and does the wrong thing by him.
And yet, he seeks to find the right one. He is lonely!
To reassure, I told him that somewhere out there is a lonely lady waiting, just for him
Did he accept these words as a kindness? No!!!
He turned on me saying neither I nor anyone else was going to FORCE him to go looking for anyone.......
Everything I said to him was turned back in anger towards me.
He has allowed strongholds to have occupancy.
You cannot reason with someone like this, you can only pray for them.
So what do you do with constant thoughts that seek to consume and defile?
You use the weapons of your warfare....
You do as Jesus did when tempted by Satan in the dessert.
You quote the word of God, over and over and over in your mind.
Until, the word takes root and produces seed, good seed.
You drive out the (SPIRIT) of fear and replace it with the(SPIRITUAL) power.
Saying aloud....It is written!!!
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 timothy 1:7) X3
LIVE IN THE SPIRIT OF LOVE
Like a little girl named Pollyanna.
For those of you who don't know the story, Pollyanna was an orphan.
She was brought up by poor Christian parents. Her mother died and later her Pastor father followed. Pollyanna was sent to live with her mothers sister, her Aunt Polly, who was very wealth and upholds a superior RELIGIOUS attitude to all.
Pollyanna has been taught a CHRISTIAN attitude, of being GLAD about everything. She is generous, kind and loving to all. As the characters traits unfold we see a whole town that a SPIRIT of negativity has encompassed.
We see the example in this story of how the devil succeeds in causing havoc in the minds by imaginations. People didn't address their problems! They don't display Christian compassion and love to one another, instead they allow wounds of hurt to fester, erupt and influence with negativity.
Pollyanna soon teaches the whole town how to play her GLAD game.....
In other words, she helps everyone bring their thoughts and minds into harmony with the mind of Christ. She teaches them, how to be, Christ-like.
2 Timothy 2:21
Allow Christ to shape your mind.
Amen! I'm so grateful that God's weapons are available to His children as we fight against the enemy's strongholds. Glory be to God! God bless.
ReplyDeleteIt has taken me a long time to make that my philosophy. Too late to instill it in one of my children. But never give up. One of my daughters is a MSW and the hardest thing she had to learn, she told me, was to offer the resources and she cannot force, nor is it her fault if the help is not taken advantage of. Always enjoy your posts.

Hello Rose, Standing strong can be hard, but it is necessary... Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteQMM, I have problems with my grown children at times..we never stop being a mother and be there to listen. Satan wants to tear down the family.
Love, filling the home with a Christian radio station, praying, reading God's Word, binding and loosening and quoting the word of God aloud....are my weapons. My Pastor quoted to me the scripture of 'Satan roaming the earth like a roaring lion'...he said a roaring lion has no teeth, so the only way it can hurt is by fear. Satan cannot touch us, he can only make us fear and act through that fear to hurt each other, if we allow him..I love you dear sister. Hugs
I loved that movie and have been accused of being a Pollyanna and I take that as a compliment.
ReplyDeleteAmen sista - you have to choose to be positive.
sandie
Love ya Sandie!! xx
ReplyDeleteI've battled all my life with being a bit of a "Grumpy Gus", yet I'm a firm believer in the words of Abraham Lincoln that "People are generally just about as happy as they make up their minds to be." As the "modern" parable in one of my posts shows, we usually find what we look for. I try to remember Philippians 4:8 in order to help keep my perspective.
ReplyDeleteGorges, I love Philippians, "think on what is beautiful' so true. Thanks Mate.Bless you.
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I've never understood people who are grumpy and take it out on others.
ReplyDeleteBefore I get out of bed, Marley and I stretch and I thank God for the day He has given to us. Then she breathes her stinky doggy breath on me and tries to kiss me. I know that I don't have to rush anywhere, but I've always been this way. I go to bed happy too.
I ask God to protect me against all evil, and help me through the day. If things get tense, I step away and pray. It is amazing what praying will do. Amen?
Hi Crystal Mary,
ReplyDeleteOh I so dearly love the movie Pollyanna...I love the part where she makes rainbows with the crystals...and I love the part about the doll at the fair...It is my favorite movie of all time!
And I sure understand about that man who was hurt...but, when he's not looking, he'll find the right one...
Sending hugs your way,
Cindy
