A Scapegoat

No one likes to be made a scapegoat.
To be blamed when you have tried to do good, then someone turned it around for bad.

When you go out of your way, a long way out of your way...
Even give professional help, so that they get one to one of your time..
No pay, run into the ground, then you are told, You Enjoyed It!
You want to do it?

It makes you feel so lonely.
You can't talk about it to anyone, because then you will sound like a complainer.
Your heart feels dry from the unshed tears.
All you can do with the hurt, is take it to the lover of your soul...
Jesus,
and cry out to Him.

Psalm 139:23-24
"Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting."

I have come to a time when I don't want to reach out and help.
I feel it safer to do nothing.
Instead of offering physical assistance, even if asked,
My reply will be,  "I will pray for you."
Perhaps I tried too hard?
Perhaps I have given what was not wanted?

Prayer, is always the best help in everyway.

For with God, nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)

But He said,
The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

To love unconditionally, is to let go and let God.

  2. You have my sympathies. But you are a Believer and you have faith, and you know that the wisdom of Romans 8:28 always prevails. God bless you.

  3. Sorry you have been hurt. The older I get the more I realize that the only person who will never let me down is Christ and I just hve to follow where He leads. So yes, pray, and He will direct you to help another. I pray God heals your heart.

  4. That is not good. I'm just glad to see that you're turning to God with it instead of reacting in pure anger.

  5. Crystal. Thank you for such a beautiful comment on our blog Not Accidentally. It is encouraging to have comments as you know. I read your blog about a stroke just out of curiosity 2 years ago on September 17 I had a major stroke. Praise God a friend was visiting and knew enough to get me to a hospital. After evaluation they gave me tPA except for a small tremor in my left had I was back to normal within hours.

  6. Oh, this resonates . . . I have so been there.
I imagine going out and kicking truck tires.

I do know there's only one rule here - if we want to continue "playing the game." We gotta keep breathing. I know that the really bad bad lasts for five hundred (500) miles. REALLY, if you are driving and crying - you'll finally notice the sobbing part has stopped at the 500 mile mark.

The helpful thing to know is - everything will change - God promised to work all things together for good - for those who love Him . . (that's you & me and a bunch others I'm sure of . . . )

The crazy thing to accept is - after all that process - the Holy dusts off our knees & puts us back in the game. Go figure. Except, while we are out here - doing what is ours to do - having "experiences" while we are at it . . when we hear or see something that resonates (like this post) - we can share and encourage -

like you often do with me.

    love & love,
    -g-

  7. Unfortunately Crystal I do understand because I am in this place a lot with you. I don't understand nor do I understand why it is allowed. I think of the verse you reap what you sew - but I don't - unless I don't know what I'm sewing.

I hate it for you. I love you. Prayers and hugs.

  8. Thank you for this post. I agreed to do some framing jobs for a women at a cut rate hoping that it would help her out. I now found that I have to forgive her for taking advantage of me and abusing me with all the dozens of jobs she continued to bring me while I am still giving her free labor. You are right, give it to God. My Lord says to work hard and says that he honors us when we keep our word, and give even when it hurts.

  9. Oh such beautiful friends..No I couldn't cry and still can't, I was so shocked.
So sorry to hear off some of you about also experiencing similar abuse. And actually, thats what it's called.
I am always so thankful when anyone does anything at all for me. I do love Roman's 8:28 "For we know that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His Purpose." on reading this (and I quote it often myself) I know there is a lesson to be made. Sometimes even though we can't see the good, it is there for someone else to see. Love to all. CM

  11. Crystal Mary,
I don't know when it happens, but a moment does arrive when we KNOW the comfort of Jesus in all hurts... because HE too was 'afflicted ... and aquatinted with sorrow.' It is the hollow in every road, but He has been there and wants to see us safely across it. Prayers for you dear one XX

  13. Sometimes we give a helping hand or stand up for what is right and we are vilified for what we have done. But if it was the right thing to do, the good may not materialize at that moment, but at a later time in that person's life. Or you may have touched someone that was a witness. You just may never know the good that came out of your act. Trust God, He is always our comfort and our Shepherd.

  15. It hurts, especially if it comes from someone you care about deeply and love.

My Grandma always told me, "Joey, turn the other cheek".

It took some time, but I finally understood. Now, I go to my sacred place and sit there with my eyes closed and meditate until I have given the pain fully to God, and I am at peace.

    Love to you,
    Joey

  16. Amen! Take it to Jesus! He most surly understands. Was He not the scapegoat who took the sins of the world upon Himself at the cross? Where else can we go?
