Ruled by Baboons

It's September...and spring in the Land of Oz.

You gotta laugh...it makes your day.
Got this in an email:
We are all familiar with
a Herd of cows,
a Flock of chickens,
a School of  fish
and a Gaggle of geese.

A Pride of lions,
a Murder of crows.
An Exaltation of doves and, presumably because they look so wise, a    Parliament of  owls.

Now consider a group  of Baboons.
They are the loudest, most dangerous, most  obnoxious, most viciously    aggressive and least intelligent of  all primates.
And what is the proper collective noun for  a group of baboons?

Believe it or not  ........ They are called a Congress!

I  guess that pretty much explains the things that come out  of    Washington and Canberra (Oz)!!

Am I being mean... ?

    I learned a laugh.

  2. I think that pretty much says it all...(at least for Washington, I can't speak for Canberry.)

I had heard a murder of crows (and believe me listening to a group f them can be murderous. Nothing else likes to crow about themselves as much as a crow.) Anyway, I had not heard about a congress of baboons.

Thanks for the laugh - a good way to begin my day!

    Blessings,
    Joan

  6. Food for thought! Probably in the days when they came up with the expression, they also had a congress.

  7. Crystal, this is just hilarious! Your post was so unique and informative. I never hear that a group of crows was called a murder! That's terrible... but a congress of baboons... now that is really funny (and fitting?!)

    Your post made my day.

    Love
