When it comes to loving you, who can compare.
Have you heard the story of Reggie?
This is Reggie, or as his new owner discovered....his real name was Tank.
He belonged to a soldier who could no longer keep him.
Put into an animal refuge, Reggie waited for a family to adopt him.
However, he couldn't get on with anyone.
Until...one lady tried and tried with him.
Finally she read a letter given to her with the dog, from the previous owner.
This was from a soldier and explained why he wasn't able to keep Reggie, who's real name was Tank.
As soon as the new owner named him Tank, the dog began to respond.
And the soldier who couldn't keep him?
Well, the new owner remembered his name.
She had seen it in the paper, he was killed in action.
Man's best friend, is also a soldiers best friend.
"Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."
(Job 12:7-10)
Oh, this left a big lump in my throat! Dogs are their devotion to us are incredible. I was a verterinary technician when I was in school and loved it.
ReplyDeleteI love animals.
DeleteOh my... this is quite a story... That dog gave to that soldier so much love during the last days of his earthly life... Dogs are one of God's greatest gifts to us... and cats...and birds...and each other.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Ann
Yes they are a gift from God and to be treasured.
DeleteOutside a dog a book is man's best friend. Inside a dog it's too dark to read. Groucho Marx.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Crystal. Hope you're keeping well.
God bless.
Blessings to you Victor

ReplyDeleteThe poor dog wanted his master, and I believe Tank grieved for him.
DeleteBeautiful pictures and such a heart warming story.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite animals to raise are the abused or neglected ones, they always turn out to be the best animals to have. It does take work and lots of love and time but the end result is a loyal friend.
Blessings,

DeleteHi, my precious sweet dear friend, Crystal,
ReplyDeleteOh!! I just love this post, sweetheart.
It has touched my heart in a special way.
I agree with you. Dogs are men's best friends.
Dogs indeed, love their owners more than they love
themselves, and they are willing to give their
own lives for their masters.
Great post, Crystal!! It makes me cry...
I love animals!! I am an animal's advocate!!
I hope and pray that you are feeling better by now.
I have also felt poorly lately... I know it'll pass...
