I have plenty. But as Edith singings here, they are all gone, because life has started all over again in.........who? only Christ Jesus..
My biggest regret is not being in only one marriage. At least my children have only the one father. They are all true siblings. My first marriage lasted for almost thirty years. My marriage to Ray will be until the end of my life. With my children I have no regrets. I love the four of them.
Do you ever look back over your life with regret?
I am sure as your read these words you will remember something you regret.
Thats life isn't it! A schoolroom of lessons, learning and mistakes.
Yet in the end....as the singer sings in her haunting rendition....
They are gone...past...best forgotten, because, we get a new start with Jesus.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
Isaiah53:5
Thank You Jesus, for all you have done, and given to me.
None other have done this, only you!
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose"
Romans 8:28
I do knpw that Jesus saved and forgave me for my sins - but I still regreat some that I have done - that I have made him have to save me from - you know? sandie
ReplyDeleteI do Sandie, I do! xxx
DeleteI love this song..it is haunting, just like my many regrets.
I am like Sandie in that my biggest regret is in the things I've done and how I used to live my life that would cause Him to have to make such a huge sacrifice for me. That He did it, and so willingly, makes me love Him all the more.
ReplyDeleteSo right Shelly the more we are forgiven, the more we appreciate and love.
DeleteThere are certainly things and situations I would have handled differently. However, I think it's important to let those things shape the way we handle the future--better that way than getting bogged down in the past.
ReplyDeleteCrystal, I pretty close to finishing your book--I have something in my mind that I'm predicting will happen so I can't wait to see if I'm on the right track!
Lol....I wonder??? Let me know..
DeleteHi my sister,
ReplyDeleteYes, I have many regrets. :( But I know that God uses all for His good and glory when we give them to Him.
Hugs,
<><
Absolutely!!
DeleteI use to sorrowfully look back at regrets, but when I began to really look at them and at my spiritual growth, I realized that those choices where a stepping stone to who I am in Christ today.
ReplyDeleteYou have the true insight needed, and not always reflected on by many. xx
DeleteOh Yes, I guess we all have regrets... Lucky for us though is that we can give all of this baggage to God ---and just move on with our lives...
ReplyDeleteMy first marriage lasted 20 yrs, but was not a good marriage. We didn't work at it....I finally got out (after his affair).. We never had counseling --or really tried to make it work...
My regret is not the getting out of the marriage part.. (I met the man of my dreams in George --and thanks be to God for that.) My regret is not working hard enough to keep a good relationship with my sons. My ex and his wife have taken my sons/grands away from me... It's not their fault. They worked hard at doing this and I allowed it. Oh Well--tis life...
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
Betsy, I pray as time goes by and your son's mature in their own lives that they see through any guise. I prayed this for my own two sons, and my daughter told me not long ago, that this has happened. God will work it out.. reach out to them no matter how they reject it. So glad you have your George now..and, that he has you.
DeleteYes regrets and stepping stones and eternally grateful to my saviour.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Yes Nita, much love sent to you. x
DeleteMy biggest mistake was made at age 13; the next at age sixteen. That's what young folks don't realize; the decisions you make early can affect the rest of your life.
ReplyDeleteThats so true..!!!
DeleteRegrets? Yes plenty. But hope and faith for the future. thank You Jesus
ReplyDeleteLove Val
"God shall wipe away all tears and there will be no more crying, pain, sorrow,or death."
"Nothing shall hurt nor harm in all My holy mountain"
Amen Val. xxx
DeleteLooking back there are so many things I would have handled differently. Maybe I just didn't stop and listen for His voice. One thing for sure, God has never let me go as I have stumbled thru life. I am so grateful for His mercy and grace.
ReplyDeleteWe all are Mary. Where would we be without His saving Grace?
DeleteYes...I do regret some things in my life. I almost ruined my marriage...by a stupid mistake of my. We do not have kids: Lord has His reasons. But He was by my side when we found out my husband had cancer in the intestine (he has a bag m, now) but after quimo, after radiotherapy and after a surgery...he is with me and I everyday pray "Thank you Lord for the privilege of being side by side with my husband. Thank You LORD for your Love and Your Compassion"!
ReplyDeleteIt was good to come here ...
Gog bless you and yours
BShell/Isabel
I am so glad you are together.. God does care.
DeleteHello Crystal Mary.
ReplyDeleteRegrets? Yep, I recon I have a few, maybe quite a few, no make that a Lot.
I think regrets are one of the things that really affect our ability to trust Jesus to fulfill his promises. You know what I mean, "I'm not good enough, look at what I've done" and so on. I've noticed the things I regret aren't the things that have been done to me , but those actions I myself have carried out, my actions and reactions.
If it weren't for Jesus, knowing what I now know, 20 20 hindsight, I don't think I could live with myself. Knowing that Jesus has not only forgiven me, but has also healed the damage I've done to others in my life, makes it possible to carry on. It really isn't about me, is it?
Bless you Lord Jesus, for the sacrificial offering of your own life, to find forgiveness for us sinners, Geoff.
I think its alway, what we do, that we regret.. Same with me Geoff.
DeleteRegrets....oh I do have them! It has been only through the LORD that some of them have been laid to rest...R.I.P. wrong choice....R.I.P. hateful words....R.I.P. bad attitude....Rest In Peace ...Jesus being the Peace....
ReplyDeleteIndeed He is. xx
