Many Many of us, never ever believed Lindy Chamberlain was guilty of the death of her two months old daughter..Azaria. Killed by a Dingo in 1980.
Praise God she has now been officially declared NOT GUILTY.
Many children have been attacked by Dingo's.
All the evidence at the time, proved Lindy innocent..
And yet.. The Australian Justice System, charged her guilty and this poor grieving lady, served time in prison.
A Public apology is not enough!!
I am writing this in support of a mother wrongly sentenced..
May God surround this family with His love and Peace.

So they wrecked a marriage, too, did they? There should be some way to sue the idiots that did it to her! (Even though I don't believe in frivolous lawsuits.)
ReplyDeleteI don't believe in frivolous lawsuits either...however,this poor woman served 3 years in prison. This would have been a horrifying experience for her because the other female prisoners would have given her a terrible time. Adding to that, was the grief over her daughter and later the breakdown of the her marriage.. This is and was, heartless and cruel.
ReplyDeleteI do hope through this travesty the world of justice has learned a lesson. That this precious woman had to endure losing her daughter like that AND going to prison? Unthinkable. Thank the Lord the truth reigns.
ReplyDeleteIt was criminal..she also lost her marriage and I believe she felt deserted by everyone.
DeleteThank you for publicizing this. The poor dear woman and her husband, and time in prison can never be regained. The country should pay her something for each year served, at the very least.
ReplyDeleteI agree... it can never compensate.. But it may do something in some way to help.
DeleteI remember this story ...wow.
ReplyDeleteEven though it is 32 yrs too late, it is good to see a happy ending.
DeleteIsn't that a shame? That poor lady has been in prison for so many years ---yet she was innocent...
ReplyDeleteSeems like --in our country--that the guilty go FREE and the innocent get sent to jail... Travesty!!!
Hope Lindy will have a good REST of her LIFE.
Hugs,
Betsy
I couldn't agree more.
DeleteHow sad! I didn't know about this story. Thanks for making me aware.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

I hope many more people become aware. Hugs
DeleteDear Crystal, is this the same incident that was portrayed in a movie in which Meryl Streep starred? I didn't see the movie--although I always try to get to all Streep's movies--but I have some remembrance of reading about this case in the newspapers or else hearing about it on TV news. I'm glad to learn that Lindy Chamberlain has been exonerated. Peace.
ReplyDeleteHello Dee...Yes, it was made into a movie and Meryl Streep did star. I have never seen the movie. Lindy wrote her own book called, Through my eyes the autobiography of Lindy Chamberlain. http://www.lindychamberlain.com/content/home
DeleteDear Crystal, I discovered that the library had the movie, so I ordered that. Peace.
DeletePraise God that finally justice was done.
ReplyDeleteYes Dee, Amen.
DeleteNot only did Lindy Chamberlain lose her baby daughter in horrific circumstances, she then entered her prison term heavily pregnant with her fourth child. She did not 'labour' to give birth, but 'laboured' to keep that child to herself as long as her body could stand it. She then lost that baby too, as she was taken from her and given to her husband to care for. Only God can repay what was lost to a mother and daughter during those first three special years.
ReplyDeleteSo much injustice. I am thrilled for her and Michael, this has finally shut the lid on a horrible case gone tragically wrong for this family. May God give them peace, especially their children who carry battle scars to this day.
My heart goes out to her, as you say, she lost so much. I admire her very much.
DeleteThank you for illuminating this for all of us.
ReplyDeleteBlessings on Lindy, May Her Life Reflect God's Glory -
I am so grateful for YOU in the world.
