Off line, but I learned a valuable lesson...
Don't overuse your internet credit.
I had no idea that when you download for your kindle, it takes a lot of your usage. Well, I will never download more than one Kindle a month from now on... (Amazon have many Free Kindle Books)
My time away from here seemed endless.
Oh course I could have used Ray's computer, and did on occasion.
But it it wouldn't be fair of me to steal my husbands computer time.
TIME:
I am sure you will all agree..
When you are waiting for something to come, time passes so slowly.
But other times it flies, quickly by.
I read this poem in my Bible college lessons by an unknown author.
It is so appropriate.
The shadow of my finger caste
Divides the future from the past
Before it stands the unknown hour
In darkness and beyond thy power
Behind its unreturning line
The vanished hour, no longer thine
One hour alone, is in thine hands
ONLY THE NOW, on which the shadow stands..
Gods Word Says.
"My times are in Your hands; deliver me from the hands of my foes and those who pursue me and persecute me." Psalm 31:15
I have a Kindle and have not had any trouble, and I've added many many books. However we can also 'buy' free Kindle books and read them on our computer. And any illustrations are in colour, great for recipes and instructional books. You can also send them to a 'cloud' and read them offline.
ReplyDeleteYour quotes..... so true.
Love and Blessings.
Hello Jan, I downloaded 3 Kindles...then my internet became very slow. Ray had just bought me a new Laptop and I couldn't believe it?? So after a few days I called Bigpond and they told me I had gone over my monthly amount.By that time I had no connection at all. I am on a 4G. I will be careful from now on. Love to you.
DeleteWise lesson and nice poem. Thank you and have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe have so much yet to learn don't we friend. God Bless you. xx
DeleteSo good to hear from you! I'm glad you got the Kindle thing figured out. The poem is so true- thank you for that great reminder.
ReplyDeletexoxo-
Love ya mate.
DeleteI'm glad to hear from you too - so you only have so much internet - I didn't know that - that is where you have been. I've missed you. sandie
ReplyDeleteMissed you too... where we live the internet is restricted to only one reasonable provider.
DeleteI know exactly how you feel, Crystal Mary,
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I share a 6GB plan, and just a few too many youtube videos eats that up! Also, windows updates takes quite a bit...so now, I do not do auto updates, I wait until my hubby goes to the hospital to have his bloodwork done once a month, and use their wifi to download and install updates on both our laptops...You might want to consider doing updates that way as well.
Here in the states there are libraries, and some other businesses that offer free wifi, although when I use a business I always buy a coffee or something from them just because it feels like the right thing to do :)
There's an old song that says: "Time keeps on slippin' into the future"...I find myself quoting those lyrics quite often these days,LOL!
~God bless~
Lisa
Hey Lisa, thank you for the WiFi clue. I did take my laptop to the library hoping to download there but it wouldn't work for that and neither would the McDonald's one..Its got a lot to do with where we live. My daughter lives closer to Brisbane and I occasionally do it on her Wifi. Her's doesn't have the limit ours does. Our government is suppose to be giving us a vibe optic line that will help later this year..
DeleteHi There, Sorry about your internet time.. Ours is unlimited now --so we don't have to worry about how much we use (thank goodness). But---I do remember those days when we had to 'watch' what we used...
ReplyDeleteTime is deceiving for sure... I am not a very patient person --so sometimes I get frustrated when WAITING. ha.... I now am anxious to get rid of all of these itchy bug bites I picked up several days ago... NOT FUN... ha ha
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
Go to the Pharmacist and buy ointment or cream with lignocaine in it... that's an anesthetic that will bring a numbing effect and stop the irritation. xx
DeleteWonderful poem!!
ReplyDeleteI loved it...and will keep it.
DeleteHi Crystal Mary, so sorry about your internet time. I do know that is how it works. Fortunately I am on a bundle and my internet time is not limited. Hugs. xx
ReplyDeleteYou are so blessed.. I thought I had plenty also.. I get 4G per month. Ray told me I would never use it up as it was plenty.. I must have been very greedy.. xx
DeleteBeautiful and made me think.
ReplyDeleteHavs a nice week end:)
Hello Joy... You have a blessed weekend also. xx
DeleteHello Crystal Mary, the limited use of internet reminds me of our holidays in France when I have to buy it and it is fairly expensive! I have just spent three yours stuck reading stuff on the internet so I totally understand..Lots of love and have a bless week-end. Nicky xx
ReplyDeleteHiya Nicky, I didn't know your name was Dominique? (Sunday) It was thought I was expecting twins with my 3rd pregnancy and I had planned to call them Danielle and Dominique if girls.. But I only had one big baby. I named her Daniella. Love to you xxxx
Deleteoups, I meant 'hours' xx
ReplyDeleteHello Crystal Mary.
ReplyDeleteYep, we have capped internet access here too. As for my time away, I've been so busy, work, sleep, work sleep and so on and so on. My computer at home bombed out some time ago but I now have the finances available to replace it, yay.
Time, it's the only commodity we have to trade with. Everything else can be supplied by someone else, skill, knowledge, finance. Only our time is ours alone and that is granted to us by God, a free gift.
Blessings to our God and to you and hubby too, Geoff.
Hello Geoff, we keep on keeping on.. Glad you can now afford your new computer, may it never let you down.
DeleteIs it Brilliant the Holy One is Always NOW?
ReplyDeleteLove & Love,
-g-
I was not aware of the downloads using computer time... hard way to learn. The poem is true...only now is what we have.
ReplyDeleteHi Crystal Mary,
ReplyDelete15 years ago I never had internet. Now I would not know how to live long without it...So true about time. It keeps ticking away...
Blessings,
Ken
