BATTERED BY A CYCLONE

Home alone with my granddaughter Sharny in October 2018, the town where I live in Queensland was battered by a destructive cyclone (hurricane).

We huddled together in the lounge room with our little dogs Mille and Marley, while wind, rain and hail raged outside causing a multitude of damage.

Our home was blessed to receive only roof damage, while  friends south of us experienced broken windows and more.

Our gold town sits 77 klm (48 miles) from the Pacific Ocean coast and since moving back from Tennessee in 2007, this was the worst weather pummeling to hit land and devastate.

Yes, we do get monstrous floods that cover the town in a deluge of water and they are disastrous. These cut us off from civilisation for days.

After waiting seven months, our turn came yesterday when the tradies arrived to give us a new roof …

I nabbed Laurenzo (with the great dreadlocks) for a pic with Sharny.

What a great bunch of young blokes  and such tireless workers.

The old tin was levered off and the new shiny green applied.

Thank you to our TRADIES, Laurenzo, Maverick, Nick and Rory who worked tirelessly in the heat to cover our heads.

It's looking good.

Specific clothing is worn as protection from our fierce sun.
I LIKE - Cool It Australia  CLICK here; FOR SITE.

As a retired health professional I like to know my own concreter son is kept as cool as possible when working in the blazing heat.

As described in
WEB M.D.  "
Prolonged or intense exposure to hot temperatures can cause heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion, heat cramps, and heat stroke (also known as sun stroke). As your body works to cool itself under extreme or prolonged heat, blood rushes to the surface of your skin. As a result, less blood reaches your brain, muscles, and other organs."
Dehydration:  Can lower bloodpressure to the point of now return.. I have watched the montior in Emergency - fall to a point where a patient almost died while I hurried to get an I.V. line in and saline infusing.

Lastly. God rewards those who work well.
"Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ."Colossians 3:23-24

 Jesus was a worker.
