GO MANGO

We have a dumper Mango crop this year..

BUT, if we don't pick them quickly, the parrots fly in to feast.

Now, if they ate one at a time it wouldn't be so bad, but they take a peck and leave the fruit to fall or rot.

They are picked, washed in water and Bi Carb then placed on an outside table undercover to ripen.

Everyone climbs to pick these delicious treats. In shops they cost $3 for one.

VERY EXPENSIVE

This was on Sunday 3rd January when my grandchildren come to visit. Serenity wanted a mango.

My grandchildren love this fruit. They are packed full of nutrition. Mainly Vitamin C and A.

Vitamin C builds the immune system. https://www.healthline.com/search?q1=Vitamin%20C

Vitamin A helps eye sight plus more. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/vitamin-a#what-it-is

Out in the yard, little brother Laish picked wild flowers from the lawn to present to Nanna.

Laish is a Hebrew word meaning LION..

Back inside, my son Lee - Joel -  their Papa fed cold Mangos from the fridge.

There is no fussing, they are too busy eating.

And thinking about the wonderful taste.

Papa loves to see them eating healthy and being happy.

Our Bowen Mango, otherwise known as Kensington Pride. (The BEST variety.)

The original tree emerged in Bowen, Queensland in the late 1880s (although the fruit was not formally described until the 1960s), where it was given the name "Pride of Bowen" and "Bowen Special". It was possibly brought to Bowen from India between 1885–1889 by traders who were shipping horses for military use in India. The polyembryonic nature of the fruit suggests a south east Asian origin, although the shape and colour are very similar to Indian cultivars suggesting a possible hybrid.
