Not In The Grave

JESUS is NOT in the Grave...
He is the ONLY Leader of a faith who is NOT!

John 1: 15-17
He (Jesus) asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”
Thinking he was the gardener, she (Mary Magdalen) said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).
Jesus said, Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

JESUS WAS NOT JUST ANOTHER PROPHET, HE WAS,  THE SON OF GOD.

Lorakeet Alarm ~ Gods Creation

I'm retired, and the good part about that is, I go to bed when I like and get up the same.
However, spring is coming and our fruit trees and native plants are blooming.
This brings a variety of parrots in to feed.

This morning a whole flock descended onto the huge bottle brush tree at the side of my bedroom window.
I don't mind them eating from there, but I do mind the time, it was 5:30am.
Their chatter was deafening.
Getting up and looking out of the window, I clapped my hands and yelled at them to go away.
Finally they did, with a few coming back later to eat alone.

Here is my bottle brush tree, with a Rainbow Lorakeet enjoying a feed.

Looking through the bedroom window...

They are about the size of a six weeks chicken... They look pretty, but what a pest!!
Here they are nesting for the night in the trees in our town park.

Our Mango tree is presently in full bloom. It the storms don't destroy the flowers we'll have a good crop this year. Then, these little critters along with all the other parrot life, will be visiting for a feed.

The fruit bats also fly in, in hoards silently at night.... Its almost time to hang a sensor hooting owl up to scare them all away.
"Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind." (Job 12:7-10)

Name Your Home

My Blogger friend and fellow Ozzie Dottie, says its good to name your house.
I agree with her.
My mother named our family small farm, Billilingra, an aboriginal word meaning running water.
We had a creek that ran right through the middle of our land. The problem with that creek was the terrible flooding right up to the edge of our house, during the rains. If not for being built on the crest of a hill, then it would have floated away. I was often fearful that this would happen, as I sat on the end of the bed, looking out on that expansion of raging torrents.
Since those times I have a dreaded fear of floods.

Our home here in Queensland is a typical Queens-lander.
Its fully timber and set high off the ground with a timber fenced basement underneath.
Built like this, air can circulate and keep the occupants cooler in those hot steamy sub tropical months.
The structure prevents mold and mildew associated with living in this climate.

Since names are very important, I have chosen a name for our abode.
It is aboriginal ... And its name is now: Karinya as this means, Peaceful Home.

My prayer... That my home is ever peaceful, full of laughter and joy, welcoming all who come to its door.
As they leave may it be with an everlasting blessing...

“May The Lord bless you and keep you;
May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious unto you;
May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Numbers 6 :24-26

An Ozzie Song..
I've been around the world
A couple of times or maybe more
I've seen the sights, I've had delights
On every foreign shore
But when my mates all ask me
The place that I adore
I tell them right away

Give me a home among the gumtrees
With lots of plum trees
A sheep or two, a k-kangaroo
A clothesline out the back
Verandah out the front
And an old rocking chair

You can see me in the kitchen
Cooking up a roast
Or Vegemite on toast
Just you and me, a cup of tea
And later on, we'll settle down
And go out on the porch
And watch the possums play

Life is Fragile - Love is Not

I have never thought it was a hard task to forgive others.
Yet the last few years have proven me wrong with this.
I don't feel I have to explain myself to family.
If they believe wrong about me without making sure of their evaluation, then I don't try and justify myself. I expect them to love me unconditionally.... as I do/did them.
That doesn't mean what they believe doesn't hurt, because it does.

Someone close to me insisted on doing something for me a few years back.
I didn't want what they wanted to give. They argue with me until I finally gave in. Afterall, I had done many things for them they told me, and now it was their turn.  Something I gave them, was very expensive and much needed at the time. I kept no account, I believe when you give you forget, as its given to God.
However, the other person believed in keeping account of what they did. Doing that, caused hatred and jealousy towards me. Still, I have not divulged what I did for them, for by doing so, I would offend my God.
My life is fragile....My love for God, and what is right, is not.

"A talebearer reveals secrets,
But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter."

Proverbs 11:13

Hear no evil -           See no evil-              Speak no evil.
And I have to remember all of this myself also.
One thing I do, is stay away from people who are evil.

Hear a Laughing Kookaburra for yourself. SHORT VIDEO

Happy Birds

If I could be a bird...I would have chosen to be a kookaburra,... because they enjoy a good laugh.

On Saturday morning I was blessed to capture this family of three, sitting in our huge pine tree out back.
They had just finished a chorus of laughter.
Usually a family of crows claim this tree as their abode. However, the kookaburra is King of the Bush, just as we used to sing in that song at school...

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Merry, merry king of the bush is he
Laugh, Kookaburra! Laugh, Kookaburra!
Gay your life must be

So, when the Kookaburra lays their claim somewhere, the other birds move away.
Being a Pine, and not a eucalyptus (gum) tree though, does make a difference.
Because Kookaburras like to make their homes in a hole, way up in a gum tree.
Those crows almost drove me crazy with their cawing all day long.
Since the kookaburra's have been flying in, I haven't had to put up with the crows.
Instead, every now and then the laughing birds put on a cackling cresendo.

That sound always picks my spirits UP when I am feeling low.
AND... they keep the snakes away.

See Yourself Beautiful

I love a good laugh, and miss laughing at things with my mother.
I know she would roar laughing at this, but she is blind now and even if I explained it, it wouldn't be as funny.
Its good to have a sense of humor and also be able to laugh at ourselves.
How do we see ourselves?
Lets look to the cross and see ourselves through Jesus eye's
We are and always will be, His Beloved.

Opinions of the Mind.

Sometimes I feel like I am speaking/writing dribble.
But really, what is a Blog post for?
Mine are often to remind myself.
Kind of like a diary where I can look back and think...did I say that!
Sometimes its Mad, Helpful, a little Crazy, or a bit Sad..
I rant on..

I am considering a return to University next year.
What will I do?
I only have a year to complete a Masters degree in Mental Health. So will I do that?
Or, because of my new interest in Creative Writing, should I do that?
So many choices........BUT, what a blessing to be able to chose.

I can waffle on like this on my BLOG

Yet often  in person, I am the quiet one.
Thank you all for reading my thoughts.....and thank you for sharing and allowing me, to read yours.
You enrich my life.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord,
not for men."
