Illness is like a Crocodile, it wants to devour!
You can't kill it, but you can capture and try to control it, with Gods help.
"He sent out his Word (Jesus) and healed them, snatching them from the door of death."
Psalms 107:20. NIV
I felt ill all day on Thursday.
Being a very sensitive person I take on board everyone else's problem..
I pray for them and pain for them.
I have to continually remind myself...
"HEY, you are not God, stop trying to do His business!!!
I am a person who, ..... Loves too Much...
I have also been the Scapegoat for others who feel life and God have dished them a raw deal.
So on Thursday it all caught up...
Plus I forgot to take my usual 25mg Lopressor (Metropolol)B.D.
I believe very much in natural therapy and for years have taken Magnesium.
Yet...this also had been run out of and not replaced...
Everything is for a reason and a purpose and sometimes God wants to get our attention.
How better than to make us STOP!
And stop I did... I couldn't do anything else.
My heart raced, my blood pressure rose, and I felt so very ill.
(SERVER'S ME RIGHT, I should know better)
I suffered resting for a few hours...MAD, but medical people always, assess themselves.
(PLEASE, if this ever happens to you, get to a hospital)
Finally I remembered the blood pressure medication and took it.
Ah..that made me feel a bit better...but I still wasn't well!
Next day I hit on it!
MAGNESIUM...I needed it.
Not with calcium as we have plenty of that in our water...
Just Magnesium!
Got the tablets and took them... Now I am feeling so much better.
Still need to rest some and drink plenty of water..
Praise God.

Oh you poor dear! I am so sorry you went through all this. I hope your health stabilizes soon.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby has had severe headaches lately as a side effect of his Chemo. I almost took him to the ER, but after a half hour his pain medicine finally kicked in. God bless you.
I only take 14 pills and 4 shots a day to stay "alive and well."
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you were under the weather. Glad to hear that you bounced back.
Wow the wonder of magnesium ~ who knew? (: And I love the comparison of sickness and the crocodile! By His stripes we have been healed - another benefit provided by our incredible Redeemer. Celebrating our Christmas Blessings xo
ReplyDeleteHi Crystal Mary,

ReplyDeleteFirst of all - I hope you are feeling better now. It's not a good thing to forget meds.
ReplyDeleteSo the Epsom Salts - how do you take them?
Feel better,
love,
sandie
What an encouragement my visit to your site was! From these encouraging words to the great crocodile analogy to the magnesium (my senior mom will have to try it for her leg cramps) to the adorable photo of your grandkids reminding us that Jesus is the reason for the season, to the fascinating picture for Joshua 1:8. I really needed this today, too! Thank you! Praying you continue to feel better and better!
ReplyDeleteThis was very intersting to me. I took Magnesium for a year to counteract an adverse reaction to an antibiotic. Maybe I should keep taking it!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are feeling better! Sometimes the hardest person to be compassionate to is ourselves. It comes under loving our neighbor as ourselves. And being compassionate to ourselves enables us to minister to others the most effectively.
ReplyDeleteIt took me a loooong time to learn that!
I'm glad that your feeling better. I think that as women we tend to carry so much on our hearts.I have never heard that about Magnesium thanks for sharing, I will have to try it.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,
Ginger
HE is our healer. Praise God He is.
ReplyDeleteThank you all so very much. I love my Blogger friends.
ReplyDeleteMagnesium (I.V.) was our first line of defence with a patient brought into the Emergency Dept with A.F... (a heart out of rhythm).
Our doctors here always recommend it for heart problems...I began using it for restless leg syndrome and cramps years ago, and it worked very well. Knowing science I understand it is so important to the millions of cells throughout the body...
Magnesium like everything can have side effects if you are an allergy prone person...Yet these are rare... I get allergies yet none to Magnesium...I believe in this mineral very much. Remember, take with a lge glass of water.
glad you are feeling better friend. =)
ReplyDeleteOh know... you poor dear! I am so glad to hear you are feeling better! Sometimes anemia tries to catch a hold of me... so I do understand the power of the right food (for me its red meat) and the right pill.
ReplyDeleteStay well and when you feel up to blogging again do drop by and enter my GIVEAWAY!
Blessings for health!

Glad you are feeling better. I chuckled to myself when you mentioned medical people always try to assess themselves. My hubby is in the med field and he does that too. He's the first to get on to me about taking care of myself but he's not better at it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful prayer at the end!
Oh dear Crystal,
ReplyDeleteYou are such a sweetheart. I am glad you are better. Thanks for sharing about magnesium. I'll check it out.
Love
