The Best Places in the World to Raise a Family.

This morning in church we were introduced to the Chaplain from the school which is situated closest to our church.
Jocelyn was the name of the Chaplain who spoke and told of some of her roles in supporting the students and teachers with Gods love and direction.
The School Chaplain is a safe person for young people to connect with, providing a listening ear, caring presence, and message of hope. They care for students struggling with a wide range of issues, including: family problems, confusing relationships, friendship issues, peer pressure, self-esteem issues, bullying and stress and anxiety.
Almost every school in Queensland, has a Chaplain, the one's who don't, have a position vacant.              They are paid by the government to be the spiritual leader in that school.

The Chaplain, whether male or female, is known endearingly as "Chappy"
I also discovered that Australia is one of the top ten countries in the world to raise children, and have a good quality of life.
Where is your country situated in these STATS ?

Does this surprise you ?
It did me....
Belgium is the number 1 country.... Well done Belgium!!!

We have NO police in our schools or security checks of who comes and goes.
They are open schools with large classroom windows and huge play area's.
There are huge covered area's for outside sun protection.
Children in every school, whether private of public wear a uniform. Hats are also worn outdoors for sun protection. The government assists low income families at the beginning of each school year (late January) with a bonus of money to provide for uniforms, books and school fee's.

  1. Its great! I quickly looked to the Netherlands :-) Our schools do not have uniforms. No chaplains. Some kind of confidential counselor. In the Netherlands, mothers help a lot in school. They are controlling the children for head-lice :-) They are leaders of reading groups etc.

    1. I found this to be interesting. Although my children have now finished school, I still have grandchildren there. Yes, parents also go to listen to reading.
something I did have as a youngest. I was so happy about the Chaplains, we had once a week religious education but no Chappie.

    1. What I would say against our schools is that many of the classes are too large. What I liked about the TN school
I visited was the 15 children to a class and the teacher had an aide to help her.

    1. My Sonday was very blessed thank you Deb. I wonder where the girl from your church is? But glad she is
enjoying herself. Our Pastors daughter is currently attending Uni in N.Y. state... what a wonderful world we live in
when we have so many choices.

    1. LOL... Yes! I was surprised about Belgium. And I didn't realize Oz was in the position mentioned. I think we were given about
eighth. I had an Italian friend in High School who loved everything about Belgium. So they must be one of those humble places
that excel and remain quiet about it. Good on them.
American school buses are the BEST!!! I love it that all traffic must stop when they do and children are safely
when they are meant to be before that bus moves. I believe Oz could learn from that!

  7. Dear Crystal, thanks for the link. I hadn't expected the United States to be very high because of the great amount of child abuse we have here and the violence both in life and on television and in the movies. So I wasn't surprised to find the US #13 in the ranking. Not all countries were ranked, and the US was nearly at the bottom. I so wish we could get serious about truly taking care of our children and keeping them safe from pedophiles. Peace.

  8. schools in the US are in trouble.....I believe it began years ago when we can not pray in school. But i won't go there. You are fortunate to live in such a lovely country.

  9. I wish it was that easy to just up and leave one's roots and home to live elsewhere. I know sacrifices need to be made for family but sometimes, I wonder what really is the better choice.

  11. I just love reading your posts because it's filled with so much good information! I'm thankful that my youngest daughter's teacher is a believer and frequently makes reference to the scriptures. There are only 15 children in her class. Your post is so timely because I just left a few hours ago from volunteering at her school!
