Sad Story: The Bridge Master and His Son

Holidays can be the most dispairing time, when you are alone.
When you can hear and see others together with loved ones...yet you have no-one.
Jesus loves you so much, that He gave His life for you.
This video explains it in a modern day story. It will capture your mind.... Give Him.....your heart.
He loves you like none other.
Seek out a church to attend and worship. Tell God's people if you are lonely.. and allow yourself to be loved.
YOU ARE WORTHY!! JESUS DIED FOR YOU!

A Chilli Story

I wonder if like me, you like eating chillies in your food.

There is good nutrician in Chilli.
They increase your metabolism and improve your circulation... WONDERFUL!
Because they.....have the ability to burn out fatty cells.

While living in the U.S. I often frequented 'Wendy's' for the chilli (mince. tomato and beans).
It's delicious alone or on top of their baked potato. It's also low in fat, high in fibre and low in calories.
My mouth waters at the memory.
                                  I now have the recipe..

Chilli's are said to have the potential to fight off diseases such as diabetis (helps lower the need for insulin post meal ingestion) and prostate cancer. (American Journal of Clinical Nutrician)
* * Please check with your doctor and don't stop using insulin.

Also shown to alleviate pain from shingles and sinus.
PLUS, is said to kill 75% of food bacteria.

Bring on the Chilli!!

"O taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man that trusteth in Him..Job 34:8.

FANTASY SEA WORLD * *

En-route back home from the U.S. by air we approached the top-end of the Queensland coastline. I stared down through the clouds in fascination.

“What on earth is that?” I questioned the passenger beside me.
The panorama presented in the water far below resembled millions of coloured jewels sprinkled in various sized clusters.
“Why that’s the coral, we’re over the Reef.” I was stared at as if, ‘and where have you been??’

I did feel slightly embarrassed; after all, an Ozzie should recognise their own Country shouldn’t they? But, I didn’t know I was home, plus, I’d never viewed it by air.
The varied coloured coral looked awesome and intriguing. A wonderland to millions of marine creatures….

Facts: It covers 2,300 sq kilometres and has 1500 species of marine fish. 3,600 species of hard coral, 600 species of starfish, sea urchins and sea cucumber. 500 species of seaweed with whales, dolphins and dugongs. 6 species of turtles. And, 125 species of sharks.

Psalms 19:1 “The Heavens declare the Glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork.”   I am breathless!!

ULURU EXPERIENCE

I had no desire to go and see Uluru, Ayers Rock in central Australia.
All the photo's I'd seen did nothing to pursued me. Who wanted to look at a rock? how boring!

But....from the first moment I approached the Rock, driving along the road and into a closer proximity, I was enthralled.
It is so huge rising from nowhere out of the dessert landscape.
A physical phenomenon that dominates and captures your mind in a spiritual experience. You look and look, not wanting it to withdrawl from your vision.

Tourists gather at varies times during the day, particually at sunrise and sunset, to capture the change in colours. Not only of the Rock but also the surrounding sky overhead.
I wasn't there at sunrise but I took this photo at sunset as the Rock turned from sandstone to brilliant orange.
The encounter was as if from another time.... MESMERISING.
Words cannot describe my feelings resulting from this encounter.

Geneses 1:31 And God saw everything that He made , and, behold, it was Very Good!!

COLOUR YOUR LIFE

While black and white photographs have an antique quality and are wonderful to look at… I am sure no one would be happy to live… in a colourless world.

Can you imagine not being able to see the wonderful autumn tones in this picture? Without colour it expresses loneliness, isolation, emptiness and depression.

On the other hand colour depicts joy, fun, sharing and life.

The first expression of colour in the Bible was the Rainbow. A multicoloured arch glorifying the sky with its beauty. God is the author of colour. He gave it to us not only as a promise but as refreshment for our soul.

A beautiful garden full of colour lifts your spirits, making you feel free and glad.

The beautiful Rainbow Lorikeets dominate my garden. There’re plumage is a joy to behold.
I cannot imagine them in Black and white; it would take away all their character.

Colour reflects the way you feel. It encourages health and wellbeing.
Be happy.....and ...Colour your life with Rainbows……….

UNIQUELY CREATED

                                                       Son-in-law and daughter.
Genesis 1:27 says," God created man in His image.........
Male and female,  He made them.

There is much controversy over this passage.
For if God created the human race like himself, was it His physical self OR His spiritual self?
Of course, when God did create man/woman, He created a perfect being...both physically and spiritually.
But then this was prior the fall.... when man sinned ... and change came...

I firmly believe that God did create the human family.... although many may argue.

I do not believe we simply evolved!
How could we?? we are too intergretly and completly finished.

Anyone with a medical background, will realise this more than most.

Here are some of our unique qualities.

* Every square inch of the body has approx 19,000,000 skin cells.
* Every hour one billion cells in the body must be replaced.
* The largest cell in the human body is the female egg, the smallest is the male sperm.
* Side by side, 2,000 cells from the human body could cover about one sq inch.
* At the moment of conception, you spend about half an hour as a single cell.
* We contain approx 37,000 miles of capillaries.
* The small intestine measures approx 2" round and 22' long.
* We produce 1-3 pints of saliva every 24 hours.
* Our heart pumps almost 8 pints of blood around the body in one minute!
* Our heart is approx the size of our fist, and weighs less than one pound.
* Our brain can hold five times as much information as the Encyclopedia Brittanica.
* Our right lung takes in more air than the left (it's smaller)
* We require 88 pounds of Oxygen per day. (breath fresh air, stop smoking)
* Our stomach has to produce a new layer of mucus every two weeks otherwise it will digest itself.
* Our thumb is the same length as our nose, at second joint.

And...... MUSIC CAN REDUCE CHRONIC PAIN BY MORE THAN 20%
IT CAN ALEVIATE DEPRESSION BY UP TO 25%.

Interesting isn't it.... God created us beautifully!
Oh....I could have said much more...LOL

MUSIC THERAPY

"Two little girls in blue." I could hear the beautiful voice accompanied by guitar, somewhere close by.  When time permitted....in between patient care, I peeked around the corner into the next room.
A young woman sang and played, while an elderly female patient, listened enthralled.
Music pages flicked and another song chosen. "Silver threads among the gold." Now I was the one enraptured. Who was this?
Curiosity prevailed and I caught up with her as she departed.
"So do you come here often?" I queried.
She smiled sweetly, "I will from now on, I'm the Music Therapist!"
"Oh? .... so what does that entail?"
Four years full time University, I was informed.
"And...there are not enough of us!"  I wasn't surprised.

My mother-in-law suffered from alzheimers so I decided to try it on my next visit.
Laying my face close beside hers on the pillow I sang softly....
"Vola colombo bianca vola"..... She stared as though through a mist of memory.
So I sang another..
When it was time to leave I told her goodbye and kissed her cheek. She turned her face and returned the kiss with...
"Ciao Cristella bella mia."
For a brief moment the cloud in her mind parted....and understanding shone forth.
'Nothing can separate us from the love of God." Romans 8: 38-39..

THE PRODUCT OF FEAR

My granddaughter Shiarn was experiencing fear. After fracturing her main lower leg bone (Tibia) a week ago she now needed a new evaluation by the Orthopaedic Specialist (Othopod) Her mummy was at Uni so Nanna (myself) went with her. Shiarn is just eight years old. Her pain in conjunction with her fear of the unknow now terrified her. Laying on the examination table in the plaster room she was about to have her primary caste removed and a new ligher fibreglass caste attached. The nurse commenced to cut through the sides of the plaster with a saw. Shiarn screamed and cried even after having the whole proceedure explained.....fear claimed her heart, and nothing could calm. Terror took hold with the grinding sound of the saw as she visulised it tearing through her flesh and destroying her leg.
Fear causes us to tense, it increases our heart rate and if severe, brings on Hyperventilation or the adrenal Fight Flight Response. Thankfully this didn't occur. Education, simply being told what will happen and having the reassurance of being in capable hands does much to preventing an extreme alarm.

The two nurses in attendance were marvellous...Praise God for dedication.

In Isaiah 43:1 we are reminded, " Fear not for I am with you. I have redeemed you and called you by name. You are mine.....
Today, a much happier little girl now supports a lighter caste.....And she knows, "She can do all things through Christ who strengthens her." Phillipians 4:13        Because, it is a promise from the one who loves her the most..

  The old and the new.

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

I grew up being constantly drilled, that Patience is a Virtue.
It takes strength to be patient when you are a person who likes everything done at the moment, rather than wait.
Yet to hesitate makes us appreciate, and supplies us with a humble spirit.
Other words describing patience are:
Endurance....
 Staying Power....
  Tolerance...
   Lack of complaint....
    Fortitude....
     Serenity.....

Don't we all desire to be proximal to people who display these qualities?

King David wrote, "Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait for Him to act." Psalms 37:7

Travelling around Australia and the vast area's of the outback was one time that required patience. Especially going across the Nullarbor Track. After all the stories I'd heard concerning the loneliness and isolation I wasn't looking forward to it. However, there were plenty of Roadhouses along the way, plus other travellers on the road. The Outback rule is to find a camping area before evening and stay with company for safety. Driving the long stretches of highway can cause fatigue,so you patiently, Stop and Revive to survive and make sure there is no accident from straying stock. At certain points the highway it is marked for The Flying Doctor to land. I hoped it wasn't going to be, on top of us....

Everyday life discourages patience.

HOWEVER......
To be patient generates peace and good health, both physically and mentally.

In the words of Jesus.
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you! so let not your heart be troubled." John 14:27
Rest patiently in Him.....

CARING AND SHARING

Life is good when you care and share with others.

Love is patient and kind....
Not jealous or boastful, proud or rude!
It does NOT demand its own way!
It keeps no record of wrong.
It rejoices when truth wins out.
Love never gives up, It is always faithful.
It endures through every circumstance.
1 Corinthians 13    The Bible.

How much better is the world, when we all do our part.

AMAZING MAIL

In the valley's back of beyond where I live there are mailbox's to delight the Postie's ride. Awaiting a letter with anticipation from a loved one is fast becoming a memory. We are a faster world with emails replacing and making the other, obsolete. As a country girl I grew up having to walk over a mile to the local postoffice to collect the post. What a joy to find a personal handwritten letter. They were kept, treasured and re-read. I had two Penpals, one in Japan named Hiroko and one in Texas named Mary. I still possess those letters... written so long ago.
And stamp collecting. We'd moon over the pages of beautiful designs from distant lands. Swapping and bargaining for the one sort-after was a thrill. Will that all soon become just a recollection from the past? ....probably!
So start keeping letters and you'll have a piece of history to pass on, when they are only a vague memory.
All photo's are original .....enjoy.

THE BIG WET

The water level over this gigantic bridge is over 13 metres deep (43ft)!
Queensland where I live is currently under deluge with rain almost every day for the last few weeks.
All this water will gradually drain off into central Australia where the barren lakes will replenish and come alive again.
Birds, especially the parrot life will florish, as will fish, animal and plant life. Its miraculous how a dry lake bed approximately 1,300,000Km2, or 134,925 Ha, suddenly filles up and explodes with life again.

SEEING INTO THE FUTURE

I watched a movie last night with an impressive story. Actually I just glanced at the cover when renting from the local video store, and expected it to be something like "The Time Machine"  which it wasn't.

What I loved about this story was how the future actually relates to our present day church life. I have long been disgruntled at how many people profess to know and love the Lord yet don't voice their faith in every day life. Many are afraid of offending others. But hey, what about how Jesus must be offended!

He tells us in the Matthew 10:33, "He who denies me before men, I will also deny before my Father in Heaven."

Please don't get me wrong. I don't go hitting people over the head with the Bible. But I will always, give Him the honour and the glory. And I will never be, namby pamby concerning my faith.

This is not a new movie. It was released in 2002 yet never made it in the popular charts . Probably due to the fact of being Christian.

Just towards the end, as the Bible Professor is waiting to return to 1890,   his exit from the present has a profound impact on two men who witness him going.

Please get it and watch it! I hope it opens your eyes as surely as it did mine.

My score for this story is, ten out of ten.
