The Authors Heart

No-one ever speaks of this and it's time to be shared.

It's hard being an author and giving your heart hoping to help and uplift the reader.

I don't write for the money, as I make about $1.50 per book or sometimes less. Unless hundreds or thousands are sold, an author makes nothing.
I have spent out much more getting my books on the shelf than I have ever earnt.

So why write? and why give away my books for free?
Because everyone likes what they don't pay for and you hope that at the very least, they will write a review saying what they thought of the story, either good or bad.

At the moment my heart is discouraged. I have been unwell for a long time and just beginning to pick up.
To see my books don't make a difference, and don't make the person who reads feel good, is a letdown.

I am unsure whether to keep trying or give-up as a failure?
This is in Gods hands.

Better Book Cover's

Well at least I pray my book covers are improved because I do them myself now.

I have always loved art, and enjoy to design....

So, if you know the old cover you will see a vast difference.

AND, the new covers are all on view to the right side panel  >>>>>>>

The world of writing is a big learning lesson for those would be authors out there.

Praise Father, Son and Holy Spirit for walking all the way with me.

I have recently given a few manuscripts to IngramSpark for distribution to libraries and bookstore.

And of course, who can go past Amazon?

A company named PRONOUN went out of business, so no longer display my books.

For various reasons, neither does SMASHWORDS.

AMAZON BOOK REVIEW

The most encouraging blessing to an author is to read a uplifting review.

My latest book (Post below,) is soaring. However, it needs reviews. So I felt very happy when I read this one.
The book does have another three - 5STAR wonderful reviews.

This is my latest 5 STAR review.

5-Stars! “A Great Faith Fiction!
In author Crystal Mary Lindsey's The Mystery Healer of Smoky Mountain we read a tender-hearted story, which I believe was written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. For Marni Granger's journey up the mountain... how she was lead there and all that happened shows readers God's blessings.
That this author was able to show us the unseen blessings of Lord is a testament to her faith and made me a fan for life. If you're looking for an author whose work will build-up your faith, I highly recommend Crystal Mary Lindsey!
Yes, all my books are written under the Holy Spirit influence.
The things I don't do as an author, that most authors do
I don't map a story out.
I don't work out my characters prior the story.
I don't have an office to write in.
I don't set times apart to write.

What I do.
I begin to write and the story unfolds itself as do the characters.
My hubby has taken over the office, and its a mess.
So I write on a lap-top while sitting in my recliner.
(I haven't been well for a long time)
I count my blessings, I praise God and talk or sing to him constantly.

AMAZING GRACE
When I look at one of my stories, down the line, long after its published, I can't believe that which is written, actually comes from me.  Well... that's how I know its from the Holy Spirit.
Gods grace is sufficient. ALWAYS..

I LOVE TO READ COMMENTS so don't be

shy, you are important to me.

(Just as you are to our Heavenly Father.)

Self Publishers SHOWCASE

I am thrilled to be a part of SELF PUBLISHERS SHOWCASE
http://selfpublishersshowcase.com/crystal-mary-lindsey/

It takes time to climb the ladder of commitment especially when your health is deteriorating.              I had no idea when I wrote my first book that it would lead to seven more. Did I do this?

The one greatest achievement I desire is to encourage and inspire readers along the road of self discovery and to help them in finding Jesus - the Eternal life.

Feel Happy by Reading Right.

I LOVE DOGS

Actually, I love ALL Animals and that's why, they are included in my stories.

The reason I emphasis that I love dogs, OR, children, as I call them at home, is because we have three.

Monty is twelve years old, with Mille and Marley both aged three.

What unique characters they possess.

I haven't been well for a while, and they come inside to sit close by and watch me.

When they get the chance they enjoy to chase away the wild cockies that choose to feed in our backyard.
This baby Corella hasn't grown all of his wings - yet he can still fly. He walked right up to my daughter as she took this pic.

Stories and animals included.

Cherished Encounter - Jedda the dog.

Discovering Treasure - Paris the dog, plus cats and kittens.

Forbidden Fruit Temptation - A horse known as Autumn and her foal Cheree.

Consuming Fire - Loopy and Mindy both dogs.

Since I write involving the Australian Outback, I must include, Kangaroos, Emu's and Camels, plus the parrot variety.

Can't forget the bush clock and weather warner - The Kookaburra.

Book Reviewer - How HARD Are They To FIND?

I am a Book Reviewer for Amazon.

Why do I review books?

Well, I know how hard it is for an author to sell their books and since reviews help, I review to help others.

Many authors approach me for reviews.

I have come to a place where I now ask for a review back in return for mine. Is this fair? I believe it is.
AND...many who I ask the return favour from, will not read and review mine.
It seems we have a selfish world.

So WHY, should anyone read and review my books..

Well, if they enjoy to read a fictional, Christian romance story, with many twists and turns, suspense, and if unable to work out the completion, then MY two Romance books are excellent reads.

How do I know that my books are good reads??

Well for one thing, I say what I have to say in them without waffling on.
Have you ever read a book that takes four pages to read - when it could take one?

Besides this, what reviews that I do have, are mainly 5 stars, so which is a good indication.

How much money does an author earn.
Let me tell you, its not as much as people think.

I earn between $2 - $4  a book, so for an author to earn as much as it cost to get the book published and available, they need to sell hundreds of copies.

The authors who do well, are the authors who sell in the thousands and millions.

Mary Hawkins Australian Inspirational Author

Please meet Mary Hawkins, a sweet lady, author, wife of a retired minister, mother and Follower of Jesus.

Last weekend I had the privilege to meet Mary at a Faith writers workshop in Brisbane.
Such a natural friendly radiating Christian, her light shines.

Mary a retired registered nurse has been writing inspirational romance for the past twenty years. Understanding the difficulties entailed in how to write and sell your book, Mary is all too keen to encourage new inspiring authors (like myself).
She shared an accumulation of knowledge and experience, for which I for one, truly appreciated.

She signed her latest book "Return to Baragula" personally for me.
For anyone who may be interested in reading more on the Australian outback and way of life, this book is available from Amazon.com.
The story is about love, forgiveness and God's Amazing grace.

So come visit the outback in story.

Walk down a road of love and life.

DEPRESSION, the dreaded Blackness

When I returned to nursing in 1994 I never expected to specialise in the field of Mental Health.
It was the furthest place I wanted to be. Life was difficult enough without the added trauma of dealing with difficult people.
Yet my placement demanded I be rotated in different sections of the hospital.
From day one I formed a love for these hurting human beings.
In all my time working in psychiatry I was never threatened hurt or harmed, yet many nurses are. I believe the reason why was because I always showed a genuine respect and care. In return I received the same. There is much I could write about, however I would simply like to hit on one area…….. Depression.

During my research and studies I learned that by the year 2021 the largest debilitating contributor to disease would be depression……
and I believe this to be so.

Depression and the road out…

One of America’s greatest Presidents suffered from all consuming depression. Born into a poor family he felt life was against him.
His one true love died an untimely death and he failed at work prospects.
In one of his darkest hours he wrote the following.
“I am now the most miserable man living.
If what I feel were equally distributed to the whole human family, there would be not one cheerful face on earth.
Whether I shall be better, I cannot tell.
I awfully, forebode I shall not.
I must die, or be better it appears to me.”

Well we all know this man survived and went on to greatness.
His name was Abraham Lincoln.

For everyone who has suffered from or still suffering depression you will know how seemingly hopeless this subject can appear.

For that reason I am recommending a book that is the best I have ever read.
Written by a medical doctor, Neil Nedley M.D, who uses a different approach, and successfully treats many patients!  I cannot recommend it enough.
He does NOT apply a band-aid effect....of "here take this medication" solution..
But gets down to the root issues of how and why.
Diets and light is used to nourish and stimulate the brain to wellness......

Read it for yourself!  and be encouraged! There is help!
AND please give me your honest opinion after your finished.

 Psalms 55:17
"Evening and morning and at noon, I will pray and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice."

Disappointments Bruise The Soul

Twelve Apostle Rock Stack, Victoria, Australia.

The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you;
He will never leave you nor foresake you.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.......Dueteronomy 31:8

Disappointments, Regret and Distress, all follow setbacks.
Whether losing a job, a relationship or a loved one,  they cause trauma.
And with that trauma comes physical, emotional and spiritual grieving.
No matter how prepared you are for the event, when it happens, a toll is taken.

Physically grief may cause:  Alopecia(hair loss), heart related problems (arrhythmias, hypertension)  thyroid, diabetes,  etc.

Emotional:  Depression, anxiety, weight loss, anorexia nervosa, early on-set alzheimers, etc

Spiritual:  God has left me, He doesn't care, I am being punished, etc

When you suffer a loss, no-one expects you to be a strong Rock.
Not even God expects anything of you.
In those times He holds, guides and carries you.
He is your Sheppard, the one who ever watches and never sleeps.

In the valley of dispair, His Angels keep guard over you.
Can you image seeing into the spiritual world and observing them?

Remember... after a storm comes the Rainbow.
